The Aral Sea was once the 4th largest inland lake in the world. For the last 50 years we have seen a dramatic decline in the water volume the sea. Scientists predicted that the lake would dry up by 2020. Recently however there has been a resurgence and regeneration of the lake. Scientists are yet to explain the reasoning.
